I'm currently reading a book titled How to be Free, written by a man who goes by the name Joe Blow. In one of his early chapters he talks about perfection being a dead end. I thought long about this and understood what he meant, which is what I've sort of elaborated on below in the picture.
“If anything were ever perfect it would be sterile. It would be a dead end.”

Motivation Things?
Since its been almost two months since my last post, it's pretty clear that something has been missing. Motivation. So I've decided that I'll be posting some motivational/inspirational ideas and thoughts that occur to me in hopes that I can brighten at least one person's day. These posts will be about anything from learning to love yourself the way you are, to learning to change your life for the better. It's all about you and your own happiness! They may not be 5 paragraph essays, they might be just a sentence or two, but I do believe that they can give you some positivity you might be needing at the time. Sharing those few good words won't hurt anybody!
So please try to stay positive and until next time, have a wonderful day! <3

Create an Outfit: Work vs. Not work Outfit!
I just discovered a cool website called Polyvore where you can create outfits from scratch using individual pieces of clothing and shoes and jewelry, etc. etc. It's kind of addicting at first though. So I wanted to share what I would call a "two-faced" look that would work for me - and most likely others out there also - since I have a completely different sense of style that doesn't entirely match what would be job-friendly 'round here.
To start off, I picked two sets of very similar pieces of clothing as my base; The olive green shirt and the black jeans, which I would happily wear any day.
To distinguish my "at work" look from my "not at work" look I
would throw on a white or beige cardigan, both to cover up a bit because
my office is always cold, and just because it makes it look that much
more girly and "formal," which is what we want to aim for when I'm at work. The ideal shoe for this outfit is a black flat or wedge/heel. Lately I've been really into little wedges as shown above. They're adorable, aren't they?! As for jewelry, I've got stretched ears so to avoid the very
unnecessary discrimination against that, I'd want to put on some plugs that have a cute design on it like that flower. It also makes it look like they're regular-sized earrings, so that's a huge plus. I usually don't wear
anymore jewelry so I can leave it at that. Now onto my favorite part; the purse. I picked a light colored hobo-like bag that ties it all together. I believe the light color makes it look even more girly and all, but it's
not like I'm going to be carrying it around my whole shift, right? But in the end, I have an outfit that kind of says "put-together/semi-formal/ slightly-professional," which is exactly the illusion I wanted to create!
My "not at work" outfit is what I'd prefer to wear every
day. It's not as girly looking, even though we have pretty much very similar base pieces. It's really all about styling it differently. I would have used the same shirts, but I love camouflage so I wanted to incorporate that into the look - if you can't spot the camo, it's on the pocket of the shirt! So firstly I want to focus on the shoe for this one. I would pick either a black or a dark green pair of Doc Martens, or just Doc-wannabes/other combat boots. I mean, they are about $75 cheaper, right? Lately I've been really loving dark green/ olive green things. That color reminds me of the army, and for some reason I've always loved clothes that make me look like I'm in the army. (Weird, I know.) Which is why I also picked that tan colored army-lookin backpack. I think it's the cutest backpack I have ever seen! But I couldn't decide on whether or not to keep that particular piece or an actual bag, so I kept both as an option. The bag is a really cute black leather satchel-like purse that I kind of fell in love with. It's simple, which works well for this look. Now for my ears! Anyone who really knows me knows that I have this great infatuation/worship for the moon so obviously I picked a pair of plugs with the full moon on them. I've never seen any like this, so I literally gawked at the screen when I saw it. I still want to find the Etsy shop that makes them! *drool* The ending result is an ideal look that I would wear everyday, if I was ever not at work, school, or in my bedroom of course!
So there we have it! A two-faced look that gets me from Work Outfit to Not Work Outfit. Definitely comes in handy; I tend to try really hard not to look like an actual girl when I'm not at work. *-* (Does that make me sound creepy?) Anyway! That's it for now, really sorry I haven't been posting regularly. I really promise I'll try to stick to some kind of pattern from now on but until next time,
have an awesome day!

Puppy Training Troubles!
I need to put this out there, because I really need help or any advice that can be given. My 2 month old puppy Luna loves to bite. Of course it's playful and all but she would bite your fingers when you hold her and if I try to tell her "Luna, no!" she would just bite my face. (She knows the jist of what "No" means, she responds well to it in other situations.) She's already bitten my nose and my lip a few times. Right now, it's fine that she bites other things because she's curious and that's how she explores her new world, but I want her to know that biting humans or other animals (like my other rat-dog Brownie) is not okay. Is there any specific way that I can teach her not to bite people? I don't want to use punishment because I want her training to focus on positives and not only negatives. But it's hard when she just doesn't listen.
Any help will be greatly appreciated and definitely tried out! c:
Being busy is dumb.
Obviously I've already seemed to abandon this blog for a short while! But not intentionally. School things got in the way. I now have to finish 2 and half packets of homework by the 7th in order to graduate, so that's where I've been. Not to mention, filling out a FAFSA is so confusing. I almost gave up.
I promise when I have some extra time on my hands, I'll do a Mad Finds post. That's where I show you all the really cool stuff I've found/brought home and all the cheap things that I've bought this month or so. And I'm also thinking about doing a Favorites post, too. Believe me, I have quite a few to share already. I just need to get back into the semi-swing that I was in when I started this blog! So until then, have a good day~

Or not. You don't have to listen to me.

A Day That Almost Ended in Tears
So today started out pretty normally; I got up at around 9:30 a.m., got dressed and ready for school and work. I occasionally had to watch my step so I'd avoid hitting Luna while I walked. Yeah, she's that tiny! Anyway, here's what I wore today:
A red-orange shirt with black lacing around the bottom.
Not photographed are my dark blue jeans.
Over it I wore a blue striped cardigan with red stripe accents around the wrist
and button area. It kind of has a cute nautical look to it!
It's all paired with this really pretty black/blue lace pattern tote by
Betsey Johnson that will be featured in a future blog post!
Class was over pretty quickly, I took quite a short test. (By the way, I'll explain my whole school situation in a separate post. Out of context it sounds really weird!) So I left to the library for a short errand, then went to work for a couple hours. That went by as normal. There was pizza involved though. They had ordered about 5 boxes, so I was allowed to have one of them. Did I eat all of it though?
Later in the day my mom and I decided to go out for some ice cream at the park near our apartment.
Instead of my big ol' bag, I took my little holographic purse to the park.
There's this really cute little village about 5 minutes away called the Kenneth Village where we stopped for our sweet cravings.
There's Luna with our food stuffs! Let me just mention that it was really hard to get her to look at the camera for even a second. She kind of went crazy trying to get at all the sugar - as if she weren't already hyper enough!
After that we headed over to the park where we sat and ate our stuff. Mom tried the Green Apple soda and made that face that babies make when they try lemons for the first time. I wish I had my camera with me! We hung around for about an hour and a half, letting Luna meet all the dogs and the people that went "IS THAT A CAT OR A DOG?" One guy even thought she was a squirrel, but to be fair she WAS trying to climb a tree... She got a foot high! I swear, she thinks she can do anything. c:
Then it was time to go, so we got all our things and left for home. Walking to the stairway that leads to our door, I saw a really pretty tree with bright fuchsia flowers and thought it would be a gorgeous photo, so naturally I wanted to take a picture. I asked mom for my camera, and that was when she realized that it wasn't in her pocket anymore. In a split second I ran to the car hoping it would be in there, but of course it wasn't. We ended up having to go back to the park and look for that black camera in the pitch black darkness of the park. Why they didn't turn those lights on, I don't know. But we searched for probably 20 minutes, and as each minute went by my hope was falling and my tears were rising. While we walked back to the car, accepting that maybe someone had taken it, a guy that I'd seen looking at us just minutes before came up to us, asked if we were looking for something, and pulled my camera out of his pocket. I kind of wanted to glomp him! But I know that's not really socially acceptable behavior. So I said Thank You about 7 times and now here I am bloggin about it. I honestly thank the universe for people like that. He didn't HAVE to come up and ask if I lost it. But he did, and I am really grateful.
Although I can bet that he wouldn't have turned it into the Lost and Found like he said he was going to~

Well, that was my day; nothing too out-of-the-ordinary. I should probably shower and do homework now so until next time, stay gnarly! ✌
An introduction.
Hi everyone! I guess this is my first blog post, so let me introduce myself.
My name is Talar, pronounced Tuh-lar (at least in America it is). Weird name, I know I know. It's Armenian, and so I am. Well, half Armenian and half Mexican - an unusual combination. I'm an 18 year old girl, a bit shy when you meet me in person for the first time but I guess I get over that after a while. I'm a camera/photo-taking lover. I'll take pictures of anything that catches my eye. I go to high school, though not for long. I'm graduating next month! And I also have a job in a mechanic shop. I do all their file-y, paper-y type-y stuff. A bookkeeper! That's a really weird word to type, woah.
I have two babies; no, not human ones. I've got a 5 year old dog named Brownie (guess what color she is?), and a very new 9 week old puppy named Luna. I'm kind of obsessed with them, so you may see quite a few photos.
Right now I live in California; Glendale, to be exact. It's nice here, but I like Sunland/Tujunga more. That's where I grew up most my life. I guess that's all I can say about myself for now. You'll find out more as I blog. Until then, have an awesome day!
For the record, my hair is not naturally curly like in the picture. c:
